Maybe because keeping vintage EMIMs operating correctly, with their peeling, decomposing magnets and wrinkled, buzzing diaphragms is expensive and time consuming. These speakers aren't exactly priceless pieces of art, you can easily pick up a pair for much less than they sold for new. The Neo panels sound great BTW, and have none of the problems of aging EMIMs. Do a sweep on any vintage Infinity and you'll hear more buzzes, rattles and distortions than you will ever want to know about. I wouldn't mess up a pair of IRS V's with Neos, I'd make sure the magnets were right and order new diaphragms from Graz, but for a pair of RS1B's, 2.5's etc. I don't think it's a big deal.
