I'm unclear what Infinity was trying to accomplish with the design, though. Line source bass and midrange but only 4 tweeters (one on the back).

The RS-1A/B's were more than that. A servo controlled bass array, to 4 lower midrange drivers in a short line array, to a single upper mid, to dual tweeters, to finally 1 single super tweeter, with a rear ambiance tweeter! Complicated! A collapsing line source, with the single mid for a more direct image. A line source and a point source in one! The best of both worlds? Still a classic speaker, if there ever was one! I once missed a pair for $800! I still regret that!
