they're looking fairly mint, price is 750$ CAN.
This is the poly cone mid version, not the emim version.

I have a serious love of golden age infinity. is the cost justified?

Cheers!

The asking price is a well educated one. I've seen them sell for less but I'd think you'd be able to haggle a little. Also, FWIW my experience has been from the Midwest USA.

ok, that's good. I feel like the price is fair, I just don't want to get ripped off. Money isn't exactly an issue but I feel like ill be spending more on amplification in the near future. It's gotta end somewhere...

The last pair that I know of selling in Pensacola were sold on ebay and went for just over $700. I'm sure the shipping was pretty steep on those, too.

I personally wouldn't pay that much for the RSII's but if they were in mint condition and those were the models you wanted I don't think it would be a rip off, just on the high side. Saying that only because I have found if you watch long enough you will find some real good deals come up. And sometimes you can get them much cheaper if they need the foams repaired of if a driver needs repairing. I will buy ones that need repaired, but only if the cabinets are either perfect or in real good shape, as I find it almost impossible to repair the cabinets veneers or things like that to OEM quality. My last Infinity's I purchased were a pair of RSIIb's, with a Yamaha M70 amp, and I paid 200 dollars. But they needed refoaming of the bass drivers and one is missing the rear EMIT driver, but you can find those on the auction site for a reasonable price. And even though I live in the states, I have seen many good deals in Canada both on CL, ebay and that other Canadian site, that sells electronics.

I few months ago I bought my RSII for $600.00 but they came with a Mitsubishi LT-30 which looks brand new and a Carver amp and pre-amp. If I would sell off the gear the speakers are free. On the east coast here between New York and Philidelphia the big Infinitys come around but they don't last long.

If they are mint 700 bucks is not too bad imo. If they need work, and it sounds like you are handy with speakers, point out the problems and try and get them cheaper. Woofers on ebay are around $120.00 a pair (of course you can just refoam them), those mids are $25.00 each and Emits are around $25.00 each. (the square ones are a lot more but you can buy round ones and exchange diaphragms.)

I was thinking about selling mine, and that's the exact price I was thinking of. So obviously I think it's a fair price if they're in mint condition.

appreciate the info!
I can see the price is top dollar, but big Infinitys are rare on the island, and I owe it to myself to go take a look.

In our market or yours the Island, it is a lot harder to come across these things.
So if I suggest you meet with the seller, have a listen and simply go from there.
Quite often in the face to face environment there is "some" latitude in
the final price.
Good luck.
