Interesting Estate Sale Here In Raleigh....

What are those speakers in the photos - the ones with the lattice grills? I've never seen those before.

Yes, I looked through all those photos last night and was pretty curious myself. May have to check it out!

Those Barcelonas look especially nice! I've got the studio version (9846-8A) - I'll never part with them. I always wondered why Altec put those silly cups on the rear of the Barcelonas to cover the horn drivers versus making the entire cabinet a few inches deeper. It's an IB design after all . . .

I bet that place will be a mad house . . .

That looks awesome so it's guaranteed to be one of those sales that brings out the worst in people. I lost my appetite for eating flying elbows for breakfast a long time ago.

Don't forget your helmets and stay safe out there....:D

Why couldn't this sale have happened just 6 mos ago!

When I was in Raleigh, I went to several of this estate company's sales. They do NOT overprice things, they are typically very motivated to sell everything over the weekend and, most of the time, the electronic gear is either under priced or very reasonable. Given so much gear in this sale though, no idea, but key will be to get there very early and put your name on the sign up sheet. Typically, the first person there starts a sheet, then everyone signs it as they arrive. Once the Bluemoon people arrive, they put out their own sheet that everyone signs in the same order as the original. Once the sale time starts, he calls out each person in order and let's in about 15 people at a time. They hand out little stickers you print put on items you want with your handwritten name.

The last few of their sales I attended I thought everything was overpriced. $12 per record, etc..

Well, that is quite an about-face from the ones I attended prior. I can say that they usually only price the larger stuff, all the small stuff is almost always $2 and typically, if you buy several items, they discount the total. They surely do not know audio, so some bargains are sure to be there in that stash... just get their before Nolasally. :D

In all fairness, looks like a lot of this is right up Analog Addict's alley. Best of luck to any that attend and please let us know how it goes.
