Iron Maiden All Analog LPs to Be Released in Oct 2014

Amazon is showing the first three available as a boxed set.

If one was to buy 3 to 5 of the albums, which would be the top suggestions?

I like Killers, Number of the Beast, and Piece of Mind. I seen them in concert on the Powerslave Tour way back when. They kind of lost me when they went down the mythological rock road. I kick myself for giving away my old Maiden LPs when CD's became the fad.

Prices on used Maiden records are pretty steep 'round these parts. That's a real shame that you gave those away, though that's certainly some good Karma points.

I'll be eagerly awaiting these.

First four are my favorites, I agree they lost me after that. Still have them all and the lp singles to. Had a wall of album covers in the 80's.

Yeah - A couple of years ago I tired to find some descent copies of the 1st 4 and noticed the used stuff was going for $20+.

Very very cool!! Pressed totally from original analog masters or possibly some rework done in the process as well?

Oh, this makes me VERY happy! My top 3 would be Powerslave, Seventh Son, and a toss up btwn Somewhere in Time (that cover!) and Fear of the Dark.

I hope the Blaze albums get reissued on vinyl. I'm good with NM original copies of the early stuff although eventually I want to get UK originals of the first 4.

The box set that comes with the first 3 got delayed a few weeks so I haven't been able to listen yet. I did get a few of the singles from the first wave of releases. I haven't spun those yet but the artwork is pretty cool. Not sure if they've been touched up since I've never seen the originals in person, but they look good. Maiden's artwork through the early 80's is some of the all time best. Very bleak with a tinge of cold war dystopia.

The initial reviews of these reissues are that they do not sound good... like they are muddled or something.

Too bad.

Hmmm...I am not surprised. Seems the art of mastering from the original analog tapes is just that, a lost art.

Is there detail in this? Are these from 24/192 files that came from original analog tapes? Like what Page did on the new LZ reissues, which sound amazing. Or were the plates cut from the old analog tapes??

Seems some info digging would be nice. I also understand the picture discs from a 2yr ago also are bad sounding...

Man - don't say that! I haven't received mine yet from pre-ordering.

Last weekend I went back and ordered "Iron Maiden", "Piece of Mind", and "Powerslave" to go along with NOTB & Killers that I pre-ordered earlier.
