$10K is almost mid-priced these days.
For example:
Cannondale currently offers seven road bike models north of $10K, topping at $12K (sans pedals, of course, which can run up to another $1K).
Trek currently offers eight road bike models north of $10K, topping at $12.5K, before any customization (sans pedals, of course...).
Specialized tops their 18 road bike models at $14.5K (+$customation, +$pedals, etc) .
And that's just the road bikes. Many others in the triathalon, mountain, cyclocross, gravel, etc. categories.
Which is why crashing not only results in road rash, but wallet rash also.....

I have two bikes. One is a classic Trek from when they only made frames. It's made of Columbus SL tubing with Campy/Cinelli parts and Look clipless pedals. The other is a Look Carbon Fiber with Campy/Mavic and Look parts.
The Trek with it's Green with Gold flake paint (Dupont Imron) gets all the favorable compliments on its look. I built it in the early 1980's. Except for some minor blemishes it IMO still looks very good.
FWIW: I do my best not to crash. My 73yo body doesn't heal as fast as it used to.

I've been lucky. In just over 90,000 lifetime miles, I've only crashed three times, once by running over debris, once with a front blowout, and once when my neighbor made a left hand turn in front of me with his truck. Each time, I got up off the pavement and my first thought was: "OMG - how's my bike?".
Also which is why I've always worn a helmet. I don't want to have to re-learn the alphabet.

As long as you didn’t touch the cone with your fingers. If you do, the oils from your skin will create a “Hot Spot” on the cone and really screw up the radiation pattern!

Well... not so much in terms of placement or keeping dust off of 'em, but once I tested one of the two sets of speakers that I have with a bi-wire cable I've now been thinking (one could say "obsessing") about that. I got some fancy Audioquest bi-wires as part of a deal with a set of speakers I bought. I never thought about bi-wiring even though I have two sets of speakers with those hookups but I tested those Audioquest wires on one of them and could hear an improvement. I was planning on selling the wires because they weren't white long enough for my setup and making my own, much cheaper version. Now I see though that if I move a component I could actually use the Adioquest wires. I wasn't going to bother with anything of the sort on the extra set of speakers that have in another room, thinking that though these have bi-wire connections that I didn't care enough to bother to dealing with putting in a bi-wire hookup. It would be a bit of a PIA in that I have everything routed through the basement and homes in floors... but I might have to do it, I guess to satisfy my OCD...
But what if the air pressure from the dustblower is too high?

My OCD is all about speaker positioning. If they're off by an inch left or right, tilt position etc it drives me crazy. Oddly enough pushed in dust caps etc I'm ok with as long as the grill is on. I'd rather not have to look at them. Also, it's essential that the gear on the equipment stand is centered and lined up correctly. Makes a huge difference on the sound!

Now I'm looking for my flashlight.I just spent the last few minutes hovering around a paper cone woofer with a flashlight, my brain fully convinced that I had altered the sonic characteristics of the woofer by cleaning it with a microfiber towel.
It was the rough sound of that microfiber dragging across the paper cone that got to me. Almost sounded like sandpaper. Man, I need to get out more.

I don't think it rises to the level of a disorder but certainly an actively engaged interest. So... I guess the question is did it alter the sonics of the woofer or are you imagining it.
