Is Chrysler's tiny Fiat 500 finding buyers?

Having ridden in an Abarth 500 several times now that a friend has, I can only describe it as

A Roller Coaster car with a steering wheel!!

If a little aggressive with the throttle though, it can go through front tyres fast, like many FrontWD.

There is also a Ferrari version ($47,000 and intended really for Ferrari owners who want a run around) complete with paddle style gearbox available over here with a bit more power, if you really are suicidal or want to get your hands on an elderly relatives' fortune - legally.

Abarth 500 makes a Mini Cooper S seem a little tame, and safer.

There are quite a few around here, I see them regularly. I see more Mini's though and even more of the car I bought, the Honda Fit. I love my little car, about the same size as a late 90's civic coupe (so small, but not too small) but it has room for 4 people and actually has cargo space (a lot of cargo space, I can put my drum set in the trunk without putting the back seats down!).

The lack of cargo space was the main reason I stayed away from the Fiat and the Yaris while shopping.

Now that's what I call a real In Car system! Ever drawn up alongside kids that play their car systems too loud - would like to see their faces!

I didn't think the FIT mileage numbers were much different than my (now long gone) '90 Civic SI Coupe ... looks like both had tons of room in the back ...

Pity the Civic got away from this body design ...

Portland has more Prius's then anywhere else per capita.

Do you have a source for this claim?

I'd be willing to bet Silicon Valley has more...

I would be willing to bet Hollywood or Portland - the reason is Prius' is the new ecobauble and Portland is a really green city.

Everything I've found with actual statistics point to Portland being near the top, but with LA and SF rated higher.

The HOV lane perk really increased sales of Priuses in CA, most folks around here kept their status symbols (Mercs, Bimmers, Ferraris, etc.) and bought the Priuses as daily drivers. Not to mention there are a lot of fleets here that converted to Priuses as well.
