I do dust regularly all of my audio equipment and surrounding areas . I’m talking about the dust that falls inside electronics, that we do not dust off .Get a swiffer duster and dust your components daily and it will keep a lot of dust from collecting inside your gear but won’t keep it all out as it’s inevitable that there will be dust that’s just life . If you have animals it’s even more important to dust your gear often because then you through hair into the mix (unless there a hairless type animal ) , also the more people in the house the more dusty said house will be .
Oh to answer your question, if you never dust then over time enough dust will get into your gear and may affect your gear but more so possibly cause a fire hazard , so dust your gear daily and don’t worry about your question.

This^^^Once every few years take the lid off and blow it out. It's not worth fretting over.
Good plan I’ve never took the hood off my onkyo I was just worried because we have so much dust not sure if our air vents need cleaned or something. My dad wouldn’t pay for that anyways.Once every few years take the lid off and blow it out. It's not worth fretting over.
I have a microfiber cloth as a cover for my amp which I take it off when i use it and then put it back on when I'm done. I wouldn't bother with covers normally but my house is pretty dusty.
