Is OLD vinyl better sounding than NEW vinyl?

Interesting. I'll have to look into the dead wax thing. Also were there any differences in the vinyl groove that you saw with the magnifying glass? I've got a 20x jewelers loupe Icould take with me next time I hit a record shop.

I wish I could test it myself, unfortunately I have to struggle to scrape together $20 for new records, $125 is out of the question for me.

I couldn't see any differences in the vinyl grooves. But I think they had to be spaced closer together since the dead wax area was larger in the inferior copy.

$125 was a splurge for me. But for many time is money. If you got money but no time having someone find you great LP's to listen to isn't crazy. After all, wealthy people pay for all types of services that they could do for themselves if they wanted. And if you got time but no money........happy hunting! Then of course there are those multi millionaires that shop at Goodwill. You know who you are. I'm sure there are a few on AK.

RL & Sterling are good signs but not necessarily a guarantee of good sound. People do seem to get excited when they find an RL. I have a "RL" Police Syncronicity and it sounds excellent!
