Is This Free Set Of Speakers Worth It To Pick Them Up??

I take anything for free if for no other reason to give away later. I doubt you want those in your main system but might be OK for garage duty.

I agree with the above. Probably not great but probably still okay for something. Just remember, if the surrounds need to be replaced, they won't really be free by the time you purchase foams or have someone else refoam them. Can't really tell from the photos, but they look like the woofers and maybe the mids will need foam.

MCS made a couple good speakers but those aren't them.
But for garage or party duty they might be fine.

Would these be good for a bed room setup I need to get another stereo setup after my home flood during the hurricane.

My sense is that if you want to play with a speaker by changing out drivers, recapping, bracing etc. they might be worthwhile if they're reasonably built, i.e. when you knock on them they sound solid rather than hollow. Otherwise forget it.

A good set to learn how to refoam, but when you were done they would be worth less than what they cost you in parts. I have a pair of MCSs that were the same for me. I never was satisfied with the way they sounded. They are still out in the garage.

After enlarging the image it appears they were used as cat scratchers. Several small rips/tears in the woofer foams, cat claws is my best guess for that type of damage.

I don't think the pushed in dust caps are from the cat. Best guess on those is children, idiots, or drunks.
Possibly a drunk 8 year old idiot.

I use to go get free speakers just to see what it takes to blow them up, I have a buddy that likes making frankenspeakers, so he is always happy to come get the cabinets when I'm done. Win/win for both lol

J. C. Penny specials, this model rates right up there with white van models.
I wouldn't waste the gas even if they were at the end of my street.....but that's me.
