ISO Magnavox Micromatic mounting hardware screws

I recently was gifted a portable suitcase style Magnavox Micromatic turntable in need of repair. Upon inspection it only needed minor repair, but I found all 3 of the strange shaped mounting screws had snapped. The weight and jostling of the turntable in an upright position had caused the nubs to all break where they connect to the clips (see pic). I am hoping to find these for sale from somebody who has parted out one of these classics. Also have vinyl to trade.

Conceivably you could replace these with alternative hardware that sits in the cone shaped springs. This is a bit trickier with the portable version as there is not much space to work with compared to the large stereo console.

Any help on where to finding these screws or suitable replacements is much appreciated.

That would probably be expensive. Someone will chime in with help soon, I'm sure. There was probably a gazillion of these made back in the day.

I saw this hardware referenced in youtube videos so I'm thinking it was used in multiple early versions.

I've rehabbed several Maggies in the past, and some were just too ugly to fix up. I rob the TT's and keep them for later needs. All of my screws while resembling those mentioned above, are longer than those.

Similar situation to my portable micromatic. The top screw can be accessed by removing the 45 adapter holder. That piece of plastic just pops out. I was able to access the other two by removing screws on the panel that goes over the knobs. Very limited space, but there are only clips on the bottom and not threaded nuts.

If your turntable is too far gone consider selling/trading those three screws to me!

Does the head of the screw need to be in the normal position with the head flush with the TT base or in the raised travel position?
How much pressure does it take to slide the clip?
I can feel the clips and they spin around the screw shaft, but I can't push hard enough to get them to slide.
Any suggestions?
BTW, I'm starting a machinist program at the local CC on Monday, so I might be able to help you out in the near future on fabbing some replacement screws.

The tabs usually flip, not slide. Push up on the L shaped end and it will go vertical and let you pull it through the hole in the top board.

Here's a pic of the mounting screw as viewed with a little mirror through the hole where the 45 rpm spindle holder goes.

Keeping in mind that the mirror image is upside down, the bracket is up against two soft washers that rest on the underside of the plywood base the TT rests on. As far as I can tell so far, These two washers prevent the bracket from being flipped up against the shaft of the screw. The black washer may be split, but that's a "may".
I need some advice here on what to do. Since the schematics are glued to the bottom of the case under the TT, it would appear that removing the TT was not supposed to be a big deal for the Magnavox service tech. What am I missing here?

Any opinions?

no chance there are small screws that can be removed in order to release that top piece, or any other openings to get into the bottom? The portable i have has 4 small screws that hold down the piece of wood that the changer attaches to. Remove them and it just lifts out.

Finally got the portable Magnavox Micromatic TT out of the "suitcase" box.
The key was sliding the black spacer/washers off the shaft of the mounting screws
Then the clips flipped and "Bob's you uncle" out it lifted.
Note in pic below the split in the spacer/washer and the small wedge cut to help locate the split for removal.
