It's Floodin' Down in Texas With Tornados

No kiddin', ET!
Will call my sister tonight, but I am 100% sure they are ok as she would have found a way to get in touch. I have two brothers as well in Tyler, so praying the entire area faired well!

We are looking to get more extreme storms starting tomorrow all the way through Saturday in this area again. In my neck of the woods we have got a lot of rain, but that's it!

The sirens went off in Rockwall, late afternoon yesterday, but the trouble was east and north of us. Lake Ray Hubbard is full for the first time in 6 years and almost all of that since New Years - we are talking 10 feet since January! The lake level came up 2.5 inches yesterday alone. It is raining more than that and the Army Corp of Engineers is strategically refilling all of the reservoirs. Pretty soon, they should be able to let the Trinity River flow fully and flush it out.

Yea, ten!

Man, I've never seen the flooding happen like that in Krum before. Geesh!

Glad you & yours are alright.

The Van, TX tornado was EF-3. All the missing have been located, total of 43 injured, and two fatalities.

It touched down just north of Edom, was on the ground approximately 16 minutes with windspeeds of 140 MPH for nine miles. The base was estimated to be 700 yards wide.

We're 12 inches ahead of where we were this time last year, in an area that gets 24 inches of rain total in a good year.

The drought has been so bad the last few years, it's been 3 or 4 years since we've even seen a tornado.

3 more inches since the last post, I can't remember ever seeing this much rain this far into the year.

Strange weather indeed. Snow in the Dakotas and early tropical storm Ana making landfall in the Carolinas.

We even got some rip snortin' thundershowers in SoCal the other night at 2:30AM. The Feline Horde were all stacked up under the bed for that one.

Oh boy, a bunch of scared kitties!

It has rained more and rained harder here in OK than I have seen in over 20 years and I've lived here a loooong time.
Every day since last Friday I have emptied at least 3 inches out of my rain gauge.
I think yesterday (before the power went out) I heard on the tv there has been 50 tornados here.
No wonder my home owner's insurance is sky-high!

I just hope no one has to use that insurance or worse, gets killed.
