If it's a fad, it's one long-running fad.
Not enough to bring it back to where it was in its heyday. That would be something.
A "Fad" does not translate to anything lasting as far as I am concerned. And as far as I am concerned its a "Fad"
Mind you we can debate this and be both right over and over. There is no absolute right or wrong answer.

Fair enough but when I got into audio 25 years ago the same debate was raging, Although at that time it was records versus CDs, nobody called it vinyl yet.
Another thing that REALLY gripes Mein Butox is the shower control. There is NO reason it needs to bet THAT damn "touchy) I've fooled w/it, & fooled w/it, & all I manage to do is make myself even MADDER than I was B4. And to all of our "Friends of the Earth types-Hope you lot are happy. Back in the day, I could have a VERY nice supper, then adjourn to The Reading Room to peruse the newest tabloid, VERY VERY rarely did one ever have to Flush the Loo more than once.
Open up your wallet a bit and buy a Toto toilet, they're brand new, low flow, and nearly impossible to plug.. mine has never seen a plunger... the cheapies from Home Depot can't compare in terms of "performance". I have three bathrooms, and the 2017 Toto is way better than the 1961 American Standards in the other rest rooms. I think most of the compliant against "low flow" toilets are related to either the very early ones, or the $99 specials.
