Got a friend/colleague who lives in south Sarasota FL, who actually has had to get out and MOVE a semi-dormant alligator out of the road, near his house.

In the winter, alligators frequently go to the warmest spot they can find during the day (which sometimes is the middle of an asphalt street) to warm up, but sometimes, when it gets dark and colder in the evening- if they don't manage to go somewhere else beforehand, they basically can go dormant for the night right in the street. If one gets up early enough in the morning during winter- they might find the street blocked by a random alligator- literally just laying there. My friend has literally gotten out of his car, and dragged one of these alligators off the road, so he could get to work. Seems kind of nuts, but apparently, not that terribly uncommon down there.

Regards,
Gordon.

Wow! That’s pretty remarkable. To all of us who said we would not enjoy listening to a AI song. I have a feeling down the road we all will be listening. I’ve only heard two AI songs, but they both seem to have an underlying message. Maybe it’s just my overthinking brain, but they both seemed to say “we”( meaning them ) are coming and you’re gonna know it.

NB: The thing about Nairobi is that YES it sits about on The Equator but -- BUT -- it sits at an average elevation of 6,000 feet above sea level ... and is located downwind from Mt Kenya, a volcano that is snow-capped year round. The savannah here is COLD, ain't no tropical jungle in Kenya. There are hot spots - Chalibi Desert, Luo land near Lake Victoria, the coastal regions of the Indian Ocean like Malindi and Mombada - but in the central high plain adjacent to the Great Rift Valley it is more then often chilly.
