I saw Jeff Lorber and company at the Uptown Theatre in Kansas City in the early eighties. He had a young sax player with him named Kenny Gorelick. Fantastic show tho, and Kenny basically stole it.

Sure I could listen to Jean-Luc saw away until the cows come home, but I'm a bit disappointed to learn that Scott Henderson, an amazing guitarist, isn't featured more prominently on this recording.

My first foray into the thread. I have quite a few jazz fusion titles, but my photography skills are not all that great.

Pictures aren't essential and yours look great. I like that Miroslav Vitous LP you posted. Another lp to track down!

Wow Ed In Tx!! . . . a tasty collection of music you have bestowed upon us!! Keep them coming!! :ntwrthy:

It's a very nice album, but after I posted it I realized it might be a little more on the jazz/free jazz end of the spectrum rather than fusion. Given the performers listed on the jacket, you'd think more fusion-ish. Still, I really like it (but I like free jazz, some don't).

I'll do better ;)

I think it would be considered fusion. They do mix complex jazz riffs with world influences and laid the groundwork for the genre. It was probably recorded in '69 or '70?
