JBL 2500s?

I have a pair of 2500's above my workbench, to the left and right as test speakers. They have been there for several years now and the sound is quite satisfying for small bookshelf units.

Hey guys I picked up a couple JBL 2500s at a garage sale today.
Really nice looking little bookshelf speakers... anyone own/owned them? how were they in your opinion? I'm not too savvy when it comes to speakers as I'm more of a headphone guy but these guys only sound a little worse than my Dayton B652s and they just look so pretty... :3. So anyone have 'em?

I sold those when I worked at Best Buy during the winter of 1992 through spring of 1993. They sold that line of JBL and the SM line from Infinity. All the older employees liked the SM's, but I liked the bright sizzle from the JBL's. They aren't any sort of high end speaker, but they are nice, pretty, and a great value! I think of that line of JBL's as being the Ford Mustang of the speaker world. Good, fun, and won't break the bank... but, will never be a Ferrari.

What was the MSRP on them you know? They seem to be going for like $50-$100 on eBay.

I have a pair of the 2500s in my office. There's not much wrong with them for the price range. They do the job quite well if they're filling up a small space.

I bought a pair of 2600 new back in 1990. I think I paid $199 for them. The were discounted, as they were the last pair in the store. I was happy with them, and ultimately sold them a couple of years ago (with original box and all packaging) for $150. So a pretty good purchase overall.

i had a pair of those,was a goodwill purchase..

they sounded fine for the price i paid for them, they were very light weight, and were vinyl laminate over particle board. the edges of mine were also warping. they had a clean sound, but fell short in the bass department.
They were not very musical and i flipped them for $20.
based on how they sounded, i believe getting $20. out of them was a good deal.
