JBL 4412 value?

I use an free app on my Android phone called Simple Tone Generator. It will generate a tone at any frequency you select and it also runs sweeps. Very handy.

All kidding aside if you bump a Variac up to 1% or whatever I would think
youd have the same effect?

I assume your not using more than a watt or 2 to float it?

The fellow I bought my 4430s from told be he used a 9 volt
battery to float the coil to refoam them. If I recall correctly.
Its been nearly 15 years.

Even with low level DC you can get away with that on a woofer
coil Id imagine???

Sure, but the amperage would probably melt the voice coil.

Thank you thank you thank you! Sorry for not getting back sooner, I have been restoring power and have not had phone service or when I did, I did not have time. Thank you. I am going to grab them up. Thanks again, you all's knowledge is awesome!

The speaker grills are said to be near perfect. They was in a studio of a country singer named Dave Login. Seller did not know about repairs. They was given to the sellers father in law from Dave Logan, the seller got them from father in law. I have no clue who Dave Logan was. But speakers are in Lexington Kentucky. Seller is a DJ for weddings, but never used these for his work.

Dave Loggins? Please Come to Boston? That is a classic song.

Needing a little advise on value of some JBL 4412 speakers. I am guessing like everything else location has a lot to do with price? I have bought two Crown PS 400 from this seller before. I have not seen the speaker's. But I totally trust him from last transaction. He says drivers are perfect, one small scratch on one cabinet. He is asking 400 dollars for the pair and I would have to drive 2 hours one way to get them. I have never listened to any JBL speakers! I believe they are power hungry from what I have read. I have Yamaha some m70's x3, M80, M65, a bgw 500, Carver tfm15's x2, PS400's x2 and a little Yamaha mx35. Is any of this amps a decent match for 4412? A Kenwood basic pre amp will be used until I get my Yamaha pre amp working again. I listen to old rock and old country. I love my Cerwin Vegas in the garage, and I have NHT VT2 in the house as my main listening/surround sound. I am afraid the JBL will to refined for my liking. My hearing in the upper frequencies are shot, I think the reason I like the Cerwin Vegas! The JBL 4412 would go in my TV room/listening room for 2 channel listening. Thanks to anyone with any advice. Main question is really the price.

Offer less due to improper refoam, but I think they are a decent deal already. I too started a thread when a big pair of JBL became available to me. I was so naive then. Should have kept my mouth shut and bought them first. :)

I used that same app to refoam a subwoofer driver, but I used 30hz. Worked perfectly.

Also was handy to have the sub amp right there to drive it.
