Jbl Everest sometime needs to jump on this

That is a great price, if you have the room and some spare change. And Redwood City is just across the Bay from here. But then Redwood City is the home of Oracle, and other hi-tech companies.

Kinda wonder if that ends up being a mistake letting that one pic slide with the M2????

One cant help but think its VERY possible the M2s displaced the Everest setup.

It certainly makes us JBL fans wonder...

And that M2 certainly wasnt in a surround position for the room ;)

And his asking isnt far from a new M2 set. Especially now.

So has JBL continued to refine and improve design. Dollar for dollar is the M2 a better buy...

Im in no position to say. I may well go the rest of my life never hearing either system. Quite honestly thats
most likely to be the case LOL. I dont go to shows any more and unlikely a dealer selling new JBL reference
speakers wont show up near me.

All ears if anyone here has had the fortunate experience to hear both systems :)

The M2 would in my opinion be more accurate, and is designed to be accurate without breakup at very high SPLs. It is also a 2-way that goes very low, but requires two stereo Crown amplifiers with the correct DSP (internal) to give them their very flat response, thousands of watts. I like 2-way with active crossovers for accuracy.

The Everest is far more attractive, and is designed more for moderate listening level accuracy, and the sound that pleases. Given the choice between the two for my home I'd go Everest, but I have considered buying the M2s just because they're far cheaper, or the home version that is much more attractive and probably has a less monitor-accurate (more forgiving) signature. I can get a big discount on JBL Pro, but not on consumer, that too colors my choices.

My opinion.

The price seems pretty average. Several pairs changed hands back in 2015 and they were all around $19k. I wouldn't expect much depreciation but I would expect some (especially since the DD67000 has been released, interestingly enough right around the time that bunch of DD66000 showed up for sale...).

I do feel pretty good about my Parasound amplifier though

Take me to your leader!

I got to hear both pairs of those Classic Audio speakers at the Florida Audio Expo in February. Might have been the room (it was a large rectangular room, not a suite like most exhibitors), but the sound in this room was not anywhere close to my top 10 for the show.
