Odds are they might be some sort of Barzilay cabinets. The value lies in how much you value the D130s, probably around $300 if they are in good fettle. While interesting, I wouldn't place much value on the cabinets, unless it was a local sale and the accompanying matching cabinet was also available.

Now if the actual provenance was known, and the cabinets were Glenn of California, or some other designer label, the value could change upward.

Yes, it is available as a pair, locally. Barzilay - is that slang for home-made or is that an actual manufacture? They are on sale at a physical auction site today. They accept email bids so I gave one (100). So, we will see.

Thanks, should have upped my bid. Showed the picture to my wife, very high WAF. Should have doubled my bid. Its not true I would never fit in one, as my coffin. She would have to cut me in half. If my postings suddenly cease, you know I won the auction.

:)

I had some Apollo C51s which was D130 + 075 plus network in a homemade cabinet and though they sound very nice especially on strings like cellos though lacking in high and low extension by modern standards. I paid around 400 and considered it a good score and ended up trading them + a Sansui 5000X for 2 pairs of 4408s and a 150 bucks.

I agree. 400 bones is probably the admission price on these.

Well...you stopped posting on 3/12 - did you win? I saw the same auction, but didn't get to go...well??? :)

Phew

They called (my cell) but did not leave a message. I called back but they were closed. No email or anything like an urgent 'get these things otta here' message.

Slowpat, I entered a email bid did not physically visit the auction.
