JBL L100T value

Fair price for JBL L100T speakers? Ohio/Western PA/Northern WV area.

These are for me, local purchase. I know JBL are carrying a premium these days.

The last pair on eBay sold for $440, local P/U. That gives you some idea as to their value.

I paid $270 for mine (Alabama) within past year. Love them. Someone has listed for last six months L60Ts for $375.

He's asking $850, and they are near mint. A bit steep for me but not impossible. Maybe throw $500 cash on the table and see what happens. He can only throw me out

Don't know if they are the first JBLs I should try. Just how good are they compared to other JBLs in the $400-$700 range?

U can/should broaden Jbl search. 4412/L7. Some say 035 is too bright. If you are in that camp look for 4411/L112/L166

Personally, I think $850 is a stretch. Maybe on Eprey shipped (because the shipping would be over $100), but for local pickup/sale that seems a tad high--try throwing the $500 on the table and see what happens. I own L-100's, 4312Cs, 4410's and S-38's amongst other things in my collection, but I would not give up $850 for those--not hatin', just sayin'...

They obviously aren't moving at $850...

These would be my first foray into JBL as a main speaker. Both of my subs are JBL as is my center channel HT. Very happy with them.

How are the 4312c as room speakers?

They would be stereo only and I currently have Klipsch and Infinity as mains. I do not find Klipsch or the RS Infinitys fatiguing or harsh.

I would pass at $500 even. $300 is a reasonable price for non-eBay.

At $850 you should be able to pick up a pair of L112's or L150's a much finer speaker. Take your time and scour CL and such.

I'll keep a lookout for the other JBLs, but they don't come up very often.

Does the 4312c have a veneer cab homeowner counterpart, or is it a monitor only speaker?

I paid $1000.00 for mine brand new back in 1988 and they where asking $1200.00. If they are in excellent condition it may not be a bad thing. Getting American made monster JBLs these days new for less than $1000.00 is just not going to happen. They just don't make them like they used to.

The thing with the tweeter depends on what amp you use it with. There have been a few with zero issues. The worst case was a Yamaha integrated that I can't remember the model number. It was one of those from the 80s with the wide flashing LED power meters on the front 125 WPC, IIRC.

JBL L100T beat any above mentioned JBL speakers in sound.

However, they are newer (relatively speaking), therefore less collectible, therefore valued less.
