jbl L110 GW

The reason the 034 is "not safe" is the crossover. The 033 is crossed over a bit lower than the 034 would be... that can cause over-excursion problems.

The same would likely apply to the 035Ti or 052Ti... hence, my recommendation to update to the 4313B crossover. Shouldn't take replacing very many components, IIRC.

Regards,
Gordon.

The 033s in my L110s are crossed over at 4K, the 034s I own are crossed over lower than that (3K for the L46, 2.5K for the 4401).

But, yes, I'd think that a properly modded x-over & 035Tis could sound very good.

Did the surrounds yesterday and installed tonight - running off a Adcom 555 and a meridian pre and a Sony HD Radio and they sound good - that bass driver does a good job with the lows -I need to get them off the floor though.......

I've now got them hooked to an Adcom 5500 thru a meridian DAC and preamp from a mac mini - I had them on crappy stands and they sounded good, but then I put them on the floor, slightly tilted back and WOW - the soundstage is about 6 feet high and very wide (about 2+ feet out past the speakers) clear, good bass, transparent, smooth ,smooth...

Wow thymanst, great find! With the help of fellow AKer Targeteye, I found a pair of rare mirrored Marantz M10's at a goodwill for $30, in good shape needing only some oil on the walnut and new surrounds.

I have a pair on faux JBL stands in the bedroom against the wall on each side of the bed. Even with the bed in between them they still sound fantastic.
