I swear I think that every person who has sold a pair of 250ti speakers (no L) in the last 5 years uses the exact same ad copy with the erroneous MSRP of $7500/pr.

They got up to $5000/pr by '91.

The nice thing besides the beautiful sound & looks, they don't take much floor space. :thmbsp:

He is probably advertising both places for maximum exposure. How do these sound compared to say some JBL studio monitors? I know That is a vague question, but why are they better? If they are great enough, I might try and pick them up. Not that I have the money but I'll try.

I remember listening to a pair of L250ti's in the early 90's, it was love at first sight and sound. They still look great, styling is timeless. Could be a great deal for some lucky audio nut.

They sound a bit different to my ear as compared to horn based studio monitors, less impact maybe but still very dynamic. They excel in stereo imaging and by comparison easier to live with on a daily basis. And the looks............

Exactly. They are terrible looking and sounding speakers. Don't hype them up at all because they don't deserve it. Dont you realize that we are bringing up the value just by praising them on here.:sigh:

If you have a small room forget about them - in a big room they sound tremendous (very live sounding) and really good off axis

Just fired up my first record of the evening with my 250ti's and I think someone here should snag these while they have a chance. Heaven is waiting for you.

I remember selling them and then actually buying a pair myself. I bought the black lacquer ones, and the list on those was $7500. The made very few pair due to problems in the painting that lead to the death of a worker (I don't know if that's gospel, but I heard it from a friend who worked as a rep for Harman International). In those days I had my pick of a lot of speaker brands and these were by far the ones I was happiest with.

All that said though, these are a love it or leave it speaker. For people who like bombastic speakers these won't be your cuppa. While you'd think BIG BOOMY BASS, you get tight flat accurate speakers. I have my pair tri amped and they sing in ways no other speaker can. But they are not the speakers I would use for home theater or if you like rock with a lot of low end. But if you like pipe organ, classical or subtle accurate speakers then this price is all that and a bag of chips.

Price is a little high IMHO, considering the tweeter wood ring crack and a dented dome. 044Ti's don't come cheap or come up often since the big Tower Records used JBL blowout.

Splattered paint? If it's easy to clean up, do so and STFU about it in the ad.
