JBL LE14a odd surround problem

I hope you refoamed those LE-10s in the back of the cone. Those are my babies.

I'll be putting the surrounds on the back of your cone's Matt...I wouldnt treat your babies any other way

I did get to give them a short workout last night with "In-a-Godda-da-Vida". I really like the horn sound, first ones I've ever owned. To me, it appears to be coming from a point deep inside the box. The middle section of the song after the verses sounds incredibly nice... much like a huge pair of EV's I'd heard before. :thmbsp:

BTW I figured out why they sounded so different from the L80t's... the HF control was set to maximum. Turning it down to the mid-point made it more neutral. They still have a different sound, I'm thinking due to the horns. :scratch2:

The brown stuff is remnants of the old original glue that wouldn't come off without lifting the aquaplas.

The glue that I used is the white stuff that comes with a kit. It dries clear, although you can see a bit of it right along the edge of the foam. I always paint a fillet of glue along that edge and the outer edge of the cone to make sure it doesn't work loose... although in this case the back of the cone was not accessible due to the rim on the frame.
