If I wuz you, Glenn, should you end up looking at them, I probably wouldn't bother to mention that I was an AK'er. Just sayin...

Well, we got in contact with him, and he's asking $150. New foam, and new crossovers (for some reason). Trying to decide whether to make a counter offer. Any input is welcome.

Glenn, take $150 with you and wear an AK t-shirt, if you packed one. I like to negotiate in person, whenever possible.

Well, I think we 'might' have found a pair of Polk 7A's for about 1/2 the price of the JBL's. Can't call till morning to confirm if they're still available.

Looks like he lives at a pawn shop.
Maybe he is a pawn shop.:scratch2:

Besides, that will eliminate the nasty uncertainty of any purchase involving shipping.
Why we were trying to find something local...but we got our fingers crossed for the Polk's.

If we were going to go over there, the AK shirt would have been perfect. :thmbsp: Never leave home without it.

I own 3 pr of the L-26's and 3 pr of the bigger brother from that era, the L-36's.
All the components for the above mentioned speakers can be found fairly easily so when I look at price it's usually more about cabinet condition.
In the 70's JBL made some might fine cabinets (IMO) but in VG condition they are getting harder and harder to find......around here, PNW, the 26's in good condition will fetch $100/$150 with the $150 being a very nice cab.....Cheers

I dealt with him before the ban hammer dropped. He said he had a storage unit full of gear - Pawn shop actually makes sense. He has good stuff regardless of his business practices and prices. L-26's are nice sounding speakers - Polk 7a's are too...

Well, we snagged the Polk's instead. Cheaper, smaller, and more appropriate for their end use. Thank you for the info and suggestions guys...appreciated.
