Jeff Beck - Truth

Yes, a very good album indeed. I heard that one of the bonus tracks, a cover of Paul Muriat's "Love Is Blue", Jeff Beck played it as bad as he thought he could get away with on purpose because he despised the song.

Does anyone know why there were so many covers of "Greensleeves" recorded back in the 60's? The song is hundreds of years old, but seems like it was recorded more in that decade than all the other decades combined. I can't count how many versions, from Jeff Beck to Mantovani, I have of this song. Not that I mind; it is a nice tune when done well.
 
Seems like this thread could use a bump every 2 or 3 years..

Fantastic album. Has anyone heard the recent Sundazed mono remaster? It is truly incredible, easily found and fairly cheap. You might miss the left/right gimmicks at first but more often than not, this "new" mono release kills my 2 other copies. (a very early yellow Epic stereo and a mid/late 70's stereo Epic black label) From original analog masters. Well worth seeking out.

I have it. I give it a nod over my original Epic stereo pressing. Not a revelation by any means, but unless you have the original UK mono mix, the Sundazed is the way to go. It is all-analog and from the original UK mono mix, BTW.

I dont think You shook me was a dig in Page's side, Jimmy actually wrote Becks Bolero and he plays 12 string acoustic guitar on it too.
Jeff does a completely different version of You Shook me..................Its not that similar apart from being a 12 bar shuffle in E with the some of the same lyrics.
I have the remastered CD of this too, it is very good...................much better than the original first pressing vinyl version I have.
Although I highly recommend his live album from 2007/8. "Live at Ronnie Scotts" Theres a DVD of this too which I have to get.
