Jensen speakers.

Have a chance to buy a set of Jensen 3152 (?) speakers for $75.00. Can’t find info in them just yet. Can anyone comment on these? Thanks.

$75 seems a bit high. Not one of Jensen's best efforts. Might do if you don't have a set of speakers until you can find something better or as "party speakers." I have to imagine with that 15" woofer they will play loudly and produce gobs of bass.

OP, would help if you would put a (approximate?) location in your profile. I have a pair of 77a just sitting. Others may have projects you would appreciate and be nearby.
Pass on the Jensens. You can find better speakers at GW or CL for the same $$.

Depends if better for 75$ comes before better for, let's say, a pair of ADS, EPI, Monitor Audio or else from that era.

Anyway, I would't buy '' paper cone paradise '' Jensens.
Paper cone can sometimes be OK, but not these.

My own two cents BTW....:)

Those are not the speakers the OP is looking at. I just pulled the images from the internet so we'd all know the speakers we talking about.

I want to thank you all for the info. I’m am just a music buff and just want to be able to listen to my LP’s once in a while. I live in a relatively small town, than has no business here that repair/replace parts for electronics and/or loudspeakers. I as well, really shouldn’t be “tinkering” with items as I’d just end up with pretty shells and cabinets! It is what it is.

In my opinion, those came after the end of the line of good Jensen home speakers. All paper cones, including the tweeter.

And I love Jensens, my daily speakers are OPC24, from near the end of Jensen's best era of home speakers.

Ok, this forum is exactly what I hoped. Good folk, good opinions and knowledge of the passion/hobby. I’m over the Jensen’s and am moving on toward some Pioneers which is what I want.

Yeah Decatur is small but you're within an hour of Champagne, Bloomington and Spfld. If you're willing to drive a bit your selection will be much larger. I see a couple of candidates on CL.
