Look very pretty...

The lacquer is an almost plastic material, and may even provide a slight damping effect on the stylus holder - which would be a good thing, otherwise it is just bling

Nothing wrong with making things more attractive.

Visual presentation is especially important to the Japanese. That is why when you purchase something in a Japanese department store, they wrap it in several layers of paper. The way my wife explained it, they want the unwrapping to be an 'experience,' like you are unveiling a treasure within.

I've seen this tendency in many diverse areas of Japanese culture, ie: meal preparation, kimono, etc. They deeply appreciate a beautiful presentation.

One of the many things I love about Japanese culture. They really understand that things don't need to be utilitarian, and as you stated, they go out of their way to make things more attractive.

I ordered a VN5MR SAS AKAZONAE after getting a email from JICO this morning.I happened to need a SAS stylus for one of my Shure Ultra 500's so I pulled the trigger.

"One" of your Ultra 500's? Been searching for one for years, and you have a couple! Some guys have all the luck!

Btw, make sure you post some pics when you get it. I bet it will look great.

Not to derail this thread but your story reminds me of a guy on ebay that bought a near mint technics table and it was packed wonderfully. This bozo was mad because it took him almost an hour or so he claimed to unpack and because of that he left the seller negative feedback leaving a comment something like my time is much to valuable and it took to long to unpack.

Go figure.............:scratch2:

I don't get it. I love the SAS I put on my V15III, but the image of the one on the website looked like it was rattle canned with orange paint. IMO, of course.

It likely looks MUCH better in the flesh.

Well, your wife does consider you a looker, no?:D

Of course you're a great person and AKer as well, so what's under the wrapper is pretty cool, too, Glenn. :thmbsp:

:lmao:
That sounds like a new pickup line. "Hey baby, wanna see what's under the wrapper?"
