As good as English folk could be. He always looked so darn cool in those early Pentangle pictures.

R.I.P.

My first purchase of an LP, by myself chosen by myself, was 'Basket of Light.' Which gave me a lifelong appreciation of this artist. Bon voyage, Mr. Renbourn.

Massively talented guitarist and exponent of "Brit Folk". I expect there'll be a "Renbourn Flood" @ the trackers today, lassies & laddies.

PS: Checked and yes.

Sad news. I only ever see him live once. That was in Stourport Worcestershire, he was with Jacky Mcshee. Good night was had by all.

The beginnings of Baroque rock, afaik.
I have one record found at a thrift, The Lady and the Unicorn. Sir John A lot made his rep.

I saw him at the Bottom Line here in NYC some years back, a damn fine guitarist. I'll have to spin "The Black Balloon" this weekend in his memory. RIP JR.

I was fortunate to hear John play with Stefan Grossman here in Austin at the old Armadillo World Headquarters - a truly wonderful and beautiful evening of acoustic music.

RIP Mr. Renbourn

Just played "The Lady and the Unicorn". It's been in my collection for over 40 years.

RIP and thanks John Renbourn
