JSE Infinite Slope .6

Anyone ever have the opportunity to own or just listen to a pair of JSE Infinite Slope .6's? I'm wondering if they're as good as claimed. Thanks.

I had a pair for a while. They are very good for a small speaker, but the virtues of the infinite slope crossover are less obvious in a two way than in a more ambitious speaker with more drivers.
The limits of a small speaker tend to be most obvious in frequency range, which crossover doesn't address , whereas in a three way speaker, phase linearity and behavior beyond the theoretical crossover frequency may loom larger.
Having said that, my impression from the 1s I used for years, and the .6s I tried out for a short time is that a lot of the bad stuff we tend to associate with enclosures -- boxiness and odd imaging in particular -- seem to be dramatically lower in Infinite Slope speakers,

Don't be too hasty -- it all depends on what they cost. I'd suggest you at least go and take a listen -- you may be more excited than you expect. Also worth mentioning that JSE used different drivers at various times, and there might be some difference in how specific pairs sound, so the ones you are (or were) considering might be better than mine.

Having owned the JSE model .6, model 1 and model 2, I have to say the model .6 is an excellent small speaker. They stand only 23" high. Placed on suitable stands they present an excellent sound stage and nearly disappear into the room.

I wholeheartedly agree about the JSE infinite slope .6's... absolutely fantastic bookshelf speaker that are soooo easy to drive while presenting a brilliant live sounding & detailed soundstage that does... just disappear. I have put them up against vintage celefs (most models), proacs (inc response 2s), a pair of alons plus other high-end speakers, and every time they surpass wots up against them. Proof in the pudding... any Infinite Slope speaker is almost impossible to find... people keep 'em... as i will
