Just ordered a Schiit Saga+

No adjustment on the BT. Without the power on I run the knob from zero to full tilt and I guesstimated 8.
Do you know what the output is for the BT? My phono pre requires a significant amount more knob then my tuner, DAC or CDP.

Also, 8 o'clock or 0-10?

I read somewhere the Saga+ doesn't have much gain. I need a preamp with gain to use with my low powered tube amp and the Saga+ looks like a brilliant choice. Where is the gain listed in the specs? Can someone confirm the amount of gain? Currently using a Topping L30ii which has plenty of gain (listed as 14Vpp@ G = L; 31Vpp@ G = M; 37Vpp@ G = H) but I'd like to have more tubes.

I see the Schiit website lists gain: Gain: Approximately 1 (0dB) through either passive or active stage.

exactly. in laypersons terms, passive preamp means no gain volume control. buffer means no gain, high input impedance (typically 100kohms+) and low output impedance.

I had a Schiit Freya S here for a while. The solid-state model. It was a perfectly decent preamp with a lot of options for $600. The Saga + is only a tube buffer, rather than a full-tube preamp like the Freya +, but I imagine it's decent sounding.
Thumbs up for the Schiit Freya S. I run this preamp into a pair of Schiit Aegir monoblock amps driving a pair of ADS L1230 speakers. Inputs are a Schiit Modius DAC via XLR and a Schiit Mani 2 phono preamp from a Dual 704 with a AT VM540ML cart. Just about end game system.

I just added the BT box so I can stream from my phone and with the volume all the way up, I have to turn the Saga volume up to 8 just to hear it. Any suggestions?
Schiit Saga S and + are unity gain preamps. They do not add to the signal strength. The tube in the + is a buffer and may add 1db gain. What ever the source volume is passes through so 8 is less than full volume. Your good at 8.

BTW, this is the preamp I'd like to try w/ my 25 yr old Arcam Alpha 8 50watt power amp.

I'm sure it sounds wonderful. ;-) Tempting to order the Aegir for "summer" amps!
