I just got a Sonos and was not thrilled to find out that MOG considers the Sonos a mobile device that they want $5 more/mo to stream to.
After I signed up, they said I could listen to more music if I created a playlist, shared their service on social media sites (e.g., facebook), etc, etc. Several things I could do to extend the amount of music I could listen to, otherwise it would run out. And it did.
It's not complicated:
If it's worth $10, pay for it....if not, don't pay for it.
But wait, great news: if you don't need to stream to different devices, they offer a 50% discount. Nice of them to do that. Some people only need it on their desktop.
But wait, there's still another option: You can get it free. FREE? NO WAY! Yes way. Gosh, that's nice of them. And I'm sure "everyone" understands that companies are not in business to lose money or to even break even, so if they ask you "for free" to deal with ads or share on social media....your choice. Complain? Well seeing as how much you are paying for it....oh I forgot, it is free. Never mind.
Just my perspective.
I really enjoy MOG and get my $10 worth.
When you say signed up I assume you are talking about their free service? None of what you describe applies to their paid service. I don't use social media sites and I seem to have unlimited access to their library.
Bottom line is, if you were using their service for free, they can put on any limitations they want. You were still getting something for nothing, hoops or no hoops.

In my opinion, at $10 a month MOG offers a spectacular value. I have a SONOS system with their remote app on iPhone and listen to an amazing variety of music, discover new artists and save at LEAST $10 a month by NOT buying music I'm not sure about.
oh now come on not as bad as that,i am a disabled veteran with a fixed income.(i should not have to explain)every cent i spend matters.5 or 10 dollars means a lot.but i am going to get one eventualy.you should not make it sound like i am trying to milk a free cow.,,sorry you hit a nerve.we have a lot of paid subscription services.being able to try one out is a good thing for me and i am enjoying it.
i know your reply was just to get under my skin ,and you probaly knew i would reply in kind.be careful though my freind karma is a muther-effer.
i did you nothing!!

I think his response was towards the fellow who was complaining of jumping through all the hoops to get the service. All the hoops go away if you (he, actually) pay.
An extra $5/mo isn't going to put me in the poor house, I just thought it was strange that MOG would classify a device that runs off a 120v wall socket and is connected to an ethernet cable as "mobile".
You completely 100% misunderstood my post.
Read post #29. He got it. Sorry you took it the wrong way. If I had meant this toward you, I would have quoted you. I notice that is what you do when you respond to a particular member's comment, like in your posts #25 and 26. Why would you not think I would do the same? (as I'm doing now).
btw, the "100%" includes NOT trying to get under your skin.
Hope you understand now.
uhh ok well i guess i did,,please accept my apologies.i do a lot of this kinda stuff.i have some kinda disorder i do alright sometimes.usualy dont go off the handle i just am hard to understand and some of what i say comes out differently.anyway sorry ,no harm no foul ok?
I'm a Spotify user. I've been paying my $10/month for the past 6 months. But I'm thinking about switching to Google Music. I just got a Chromecast and it's very convenient to stream music wirelessly from my Nexus 7 tablet to the Chromecast. Unfortunately, Spotify and Mog cannot do this until they have an app that's capable of streaming to Chromecast. There are only about 4 Android apps that can stream to Chromecast. I'm hoping other companies will do so soon.
You "can" stream from a computer's Chrome browser to Chromecast. To get the best results, those websites have to be optimized, which most aren't. So I can stream Spotify from my computer (not phone or tablet) if I open Spotify in my Chrome browser. But the music bit rate is lower. And that just doesn't cut it!
Chromecast has a long way to go.
it seems like chromecast and the apple airply dont really do good with the others that is why i went with a open streamer. like the wd live.idoes support all of the majors streaming media companies.the only thing i would stream from my computer are the files i already have (quite a few).the wd live has mog raphsody, spotify apps built in ,and the video streamers too like netflix, hulupus, and 3 different youtubes and others i cant think of.
