IMHO, pretty close, but not quite (not enough drivers).

Those could be interesting once refoamed. I find the "watts indicator" very interesting!

I have never seen a pair of those before!

I'll say yes (since they seem designed as much for 'show' as 'go'). I've never seen marantz with a bullet tweeter or a lens like that for that matter. Does LS-17 mean they have 17" woofers?!? Would the super tweeter be the bullet or the cone?

I'd like to hear them but not for $100 plus $200 shipping.

I bet that bullet and lens are just plastic fakes covering up cheap cone tweeters. Marantz made some very good speakers (the Imperials, the HD, DS and M series, etc.), but these don't appear to be in that category. Probably came with some craptastic "rack system in a box" from the early 80s.

Those have 15" woofers.I just got rid of a pair I had for a few years.A good "Rock the house"speaker.They will crank!!!! Not the best speaker I've ever heard,but not the worst,either. Well worth $100.
