I remember him dropping in to see what condition his condition was in, then followed his country turn, too. Great singer, imo. I don't listen to his music often anymore, so it's time to play a few songs in honor of his passing. May he RIP.

Damn! You beat me to it!

The Gambler broke even .. RIP Kenny

Remember the song Ruby .. by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition .. and how that song was troubling to me .. young teenager during the Vietnam draft era. One older cousin of mine came back from Vietnam disabled for life.

Then I ended up serving a 20+ year career in the USAF in my adult years. Life is funny that way.

I think I remember he wrote a book in the late 70s that was sorta a "How To" book on dealing w/fortune & fame, & hopefully ending up keeping most of it..

Kenny Rogers Roasters is popular in Asia today.

In the Seinfeld Episode, The Chicken Roaster, Elaine Benes travels to Myanmar seeking help from the now insane Mr. Peterman, asking for his signature to cover up an 'accounting mistake' she made earlier in the episode. Kramer gets addicted to the Kenny Rogers' chicken. Jerry is forced to live in Kramer's apartment, George makes even more fashion mistakes.

You might think I'm batty, but every word I typed is true. RIP Kenny
