Kenwood 600T "Popping"

My kenwood 600T keeps "popping". It seems to come and go. It will cut out for a second with a pop. The tuning meter goes off center, and the deviation meter goes to 0. Then it cuts back in.

What could cause this? Any troublesome parts I should be looking for? Maybe there are 2SC1451's in this unit?

Any suggestions before I crack it open?
Also, anyone have a service manual?

Sounds like a bad solder joint. Some circuit chill might help locate if visually nothing turns up. It also would not hurt to check some caps for early signs of failure, like excessive leakage.
