kenwood ka-7300 problem ,(

i have a question about kenwood ka-7300 amp ,)
today i turn on this beauty but nothin happens... yesterday the amp work very good but today seems to be dead... if anybody know what can i do please help me ...

So I'm guessing the relay does not engage anymore? I think it time for some new caps in the regulator board. Do you hear the relay snap shortly after power up?
 
Indeed.

Is the red power indicator LED lighting? Is the speaker protection relay engaging (in normal operation, it kicks in about 4 or 5 seconds after power-on)?
 
this morning i turn on the amp and the power indicator led lighting but 3 seconds later the power indicator turn off and never show sign of life again ,(((
 
According to the schematic, there is one 6A (for 115~120V) internal fuse. If you are on 230V, then this fuse would be 3A.

Where are you located?
 
in one ocassion i connect the amp to a transformer (220v > 110v) wich give 300 watts for power but i think this amp eat 490 watts... maybe the fuse suffer some damage and today die definitely ??
 
If the unit is set internally for 110~120V, that is what is must run off of. The change from 120V to 220V involves a lot more than swapping a fuse. If your step-down transformer is rated for 300W, that should be enough for all but the highest listening levels. But certainly one thing you need to check is to see if the problem is with your transformer and not with the amp.

i think the tranformer is ok because i use the same transformer for other amp that i have (pioneer sa-8500 II)...
its possible something is broken inside the amp..... or something else ... ,(

Check the fuse. It is supposed to be 6A, but for testing purposes, I'd replace it with a 3A fuse if it is blown.

what is the purpose of the switched/unswitched back on the amp??

pd. if i replace the fuse and connect the amp to my transformer (220V > 110V) its supposed that the replaced fuse (3A) must be blown ...?

pd2. how replace the fuse?.. just turn, pull and out ?

The rear panel switch joins the preamp section and the amp section. The switch and the pre-out/main-in jacks allow you to use the preamp or the amp section separately with other audio gear, should you find a reason to do so.

If the new fuse blows, then its time to take some voltage readings. If you aren't equipped to do this, then the unit needs to go to a professional for service. The problem with the 7300 is that it used STK-type output modules that are no longer available. If one is blown (and that is possible), there are no replacements out there, other than from another 7300.

what happens if the 6A fuse look fine... anyway replace the fuse for testing purposes and what are we testing ??

If you cannot see that the element is burnt, the ohms function of a handheld multimeter can be used to check it. Or you can simply replace the fuse and see what happens.

It is supposed to use a 6A fuse, but if there is a major problem it will blow either a 6A or a 3A fuse in any case. If it were operating normally, a 3A fuse would be fine...if there's a big problem, replacing the 6A fuse with another 6A fuse can cause more damage, which is why I recommended the 3A fuse. If you can find a 3A fuse easily, use it. If not, go with the 6A fuse, but no larger than that.
 
usually the fuse knob is located back in the amp, but in the ka-7300 i cant see nothing... somebody know where is located the fuse in this model .... ??
