Kenwood KA - 8004 Integrated Amplifier ?

Hi everyone,

I've been upgrading my home listening setup as I've enjoyed listening to vinyl more and more during the pandemic. I recently acquired a great sounding pair of Snell J2 speakers.

I am looking to get a nice vintage Integrated power amplifier to pair with them. I have the opportunity to purchase a Kenwood KA-8004 for $200. Would this be a good fit for the Snell speakers? I have heard great things about Luxman and Sansui integrated amps but haven't been able to find any in my area and don't have a huge budget.

Thanks for any advice!

From what little I know of them they seem to be pretty efficient speakers thus not needing a lot of Ooomph (WPC)

The Kenwood should be fine and as an added bonus it has pre outs so if you ever decide to use it a pre-amp connected to a power amp you would have that ability plus it's a nice looking amp too.

I had a KA6004 that easily drove some Advent OLAs in the '70s and early 80s. Having used Snell Type Ks in the past I think the 60 WPC 8004 would have no problem. If you can find an 8004 with all the filter arms intact, that's a bonus.
