Kenwood KA 9100 Amp - Kenwood KD 750 Turn Table

Hello all, New there.

I have a Kenwood KA 9100 Amp and it turns on, but the meters don't show is putting out any power.

If I turn the value to max, I can just hear a little sound.

Any thoughts or suggestions??

I also have a Kenwood KD 750 Turn Table and its powers up fine, but the quartz lock indicator flickers on 33, but not on 45.

Any thoughts or suggestions??

Help would be appreciated!!

For the turntable, does it keep the correct speed even with the indicator flickering?

Thx I will try the cleaning and set switches. Not sure on speed, I am trying to replace the needle and then trying to play a record. Is there another way to check the speed? I saw someone posted here they sprayed something on it, but I did not understand what he was talking about. Do you know??

Some very nice pieces and well worth the investment to work properly.
 
Have you checked if the "normal/ separate" switch is on NORMAL? in the back?. Try to connect the 2 pairs of RCA jacks together and see; pre-out in power in... You could try the pre-out in an other amp (in it's aux input even) and see if you have signal?.

Thanks for your suggestions, I have not had a chance to try them. I should have said this from the start, the KA 9100 Amp and the KD 750 Turn Table both have been in a storage unto for 20+ years.

first shut everything off.
set the switch on the back of the amp to "normal"
plug the rca from the turntable into the "phono" jacks on the back of the amp.
connect speakers to the speaker jacks on the back of the amp. make sure to pay attention to the polarity of the speaker wires.
positive to positive negative to negative .

make sure the volume is turned down, turn it on play a record, and you should have music.

the "separate" switch will allow you to use the amp as either a preamp or power amp with the use of a separate preamp,. you dont need to worry about this yet.

you want it to work normal first

Thanks for your help!! Sorry for the delay, between work and the holidays I just had a chance to try your advice. I opened the amp and cleaned it out with Compressed gas duster and cleaned out with QD contact cleaner. May need to do QD contact cleaner again. Hooked up speakers and the tuner, I have a good signal on tuner, but only getting sound and the wattage meter shows wattage - power output from the left side only. These units were in storage for 30+ years. Any suggestions or advise???
