Hello everyone! I have a KP-5022F quad TT. It's making a popping sound when the muting switch is activated/deactivated. Is there a cap that needs replacing on these that would fix this? I've noticed on some other threads that Dual TT have the same issue and a cap replacement could be the remedy. Anyone have any experience with this issue? Thanks!!

I have one of these excellent Kenwood models. I just examined it carefully and I cannot find a muting switch on it anywhere. Could you please restate the problem you are experiencing?

There are noise suppression transistors (I think) and one cap under the platter. I can't find a service manual to identify which one suppresses noise when dropping and picking up the needle. I change the styli and it helped but I'm still getting a bit of light static/popping at the end of the record when the needle lifts. Still hoping some one can help me identify which of these components needs to be replaced to fix the issue. Or...if anyone has a service manual they are willing to share!

Ok. I understand now. I haven’t experienced that phenomenon yet. Hope you get an answer from someone so we will both know what to do.
 
Here's a picture of the board in question. Looks like 1 axial capacitor, 1 transistor, and the two black transistors in front. Not sure if those are actually transistors or noise suppression components. Any insight is surely appreciated!!

I wonder if this is the datasheet for the 120033 devices. I can't tell if there are two or three traces on the artwork.
