Kenwood KR-6400 help

So I've been playing around with it a bit more lately and noticed the speaker relay does actually click on it just takes a while, and boy did I get a fright as one of my test speakers blurred out a load of garbage, so I instantly switched the receiver off and unhooked the speaker and jammed my multi meter probes in the speaker outputs and sure enough almost 280mV's DC offset. Also a transistor "QE6" part number 2SC1451 is now getting very hot in place of the NEC C1161. Theres something definitely wrong in this receiver, maybe this transistor is the culprit, any ideas?

Yeah, I would have been lost without it. :) Finding some of the resistor values especially the two that are quite out of spec. The bi-polar capacitor has arrived and the replacement resistors should be here soon.

So I replaced the resistors to no avail, the problem seems to have gotten worse as the speaker relay doesn't even activate anymore. :(

Hello,
I have the KR-7400 and I recently worked on the amp board and checked the value of every resistor.
When I compared them to the service manual a few of them were different, but when I calculate the value from the colours painted on them, I got the same result.
Apparently Kenwood made some modifications that never made it to the service manual.
If you still have the old resistors you might try comparing the value given by the colours with the one from the metter.
Hope this helps.

Long time no post, well i'm back working on this thing and I've been checking voltages, resistors, caps and transistors, all seems fine apart from two things two of these nec c1161's according to my multimeter are shorted, and another thing there where some caps on the back of the board I though where maybe some sort of bodge? Where they supposed to be there? Not sure if I should replace these transistors so I thought I'd revive this thread and ask you guys.
