Kenwood KR-6400 lights out. Blown fuse?

My very first receiver was a Kenwood KR-5400, which was stolen from my very first apartment when I was in college. Recently, I found a 6400 with a few dark lights (one VU meter and the STEREO indicator lamp). Being the optimistic novice that I am, I thought I could fix it. It appears that the previous owner installed LED panels behind the dial and appears to have replaced the bulb in one of the meters (including what I think are some resistors). So, as I was attempting to replace the STEREO lamp, all the lights blinked and then went off. For good. I must have shorted something out ... but what? When I turn on the power, I hear the relay click over, but still no lights.

I looked at a schematic for the 4400 (the only one I could find) to discover where the fuses might be, but I couldn't make head nor tail of it. I tested the power fuse accessible from the back of the box, and that was fine. Anybody know if there are separate fuses for the front lamps somewhere, or if something else might be the culprit?

There should be a 2A fuse (F1) on the power supply board used specifically for the lighting.

Thanks much, gort69 & Watthour! Sure enough, I found it (tucked away and vertically mounted, which is why I didn't spot the fuse at first), and all lights are shining now!

Hello. I understand the topic is old, bit still - could you guide me as to where exactly this fuse is? It seems I have the same lighting issue exactly. Thanks

Googling got a pic of the power supply board (one sold on the bay) showing a fuse at 2A and the supports to hold it. Then looking at a restored unit from USAudioMart shows that board outside the transformer. It has a fuse on it. Suspect that is the fuse you need to change.
