Kenwood MV-9D Monster 700 watt Monitor Speakers

to Punker X's point, I'm pretty sure these were used in the US Operations in Panama....where the ruler was finally ousted from the presedential palace by loud music 24 hours a day if I remember correctly!
Seriously though, I'd love to get a hold of a pair of these some day...I see a few of the MV5ds around, but never these bad boys.

I think I will be listing them on ebay tonight if you are interested Redcoates. These are entirely too large for my home. I paid $100 for them so naturally I want to get my money back on them.
Hopefully there will be enough interest and get some profit out of it. We all know how that one goes with auctions though. Could be nice profit, or could be barely getting my money back. :scratch2:
Shipping is going to be high and they do show wear so who knows. They need a good cleaning in cracks and crevices especially around the controls on the bottom face. If anyone is interested....feel free to check out eBay for them. I am going to try to have them listed by this evening. Thanks Bolly and everyone else for responses to my post. I really enjoy this website. I've always communicated with nice people and will be stopping in frequently.

I own a set of MV-9Ds, 55 lbs per cabinet[LOOK LIKE THEY SHOULD WEIGH MORE] 100db at 1 watt,[ WILL MAKE YOU PANT LEGS FLUTTER AT 40 WATTS,RATED AT 700] all four 12' woofesr in each cabinet are active, [AS PER OWNER AND SERVICE MANUALS] and really sound pretty good, better than Klipsch Chorus II or Cerwin Vega 380 ES.[MV-9D GERMANY SOLD ONLY] These are a pro audio, sound reinforcment speaker, and not an consumer type, home audio speaker, but like I say better, I think than other super efficient speakers. Who knew Kenwood was such a bad ass trouble maker ? Who needs photos ?

I know this thread is very dormant but I have a pair of the MV-9D... I was stationed in Japan in the Navy and yes, they'll blow your clothes off.... They have circuit overload protection to trip before they blow. I measured them at 103 pounds each.... Currently looking to find new front covers as mine have been destroyed thru all of my Navy years of moving around. As it is now 330 am, I'll post pics tomorrow.... My Kenwood receiver is down and I'd LOVE to hear these monsters shake the ground again sometime soon! I DJ'D a ship's party of 800 sailors with these things and I got a slap on the back by the XO AND CO for really taking care of business in the music dept for the ship!
I'd pull out a driver and look inside before you sell them.
Almost all the military people I know that bought big speakers overseas would pack them full of weed before shipping them back home...just sayin'.

I used mine as a piggy bank.... Used to throw 20's in the reflex ports and open them once a year... I attached pics as promised
