I'm thinking about bidding on this set. Risky to begin with and I think us Yanks are going to get hosed on shipping.
 
Be veeeery careful!

I checked feedback and the seller has received negatives for allegedly gouging on shipping.

I emailed the seller and requested a shipping quote for the three piece ensemble. The only response that I recieved was that there would be a $50 surcharge on top of shipping costs, for materials and handling. No rate quote nor shipping estimate as I had requested. Red flag goes up!

As of yet, my second request for a ballpark shipping quote has been ignored.
Another Red flag!

Be warned. Or be ready for a BIG surprise!!

I tried to buy a 700M from a fellow in Canada who shares a name with a certain ancient Translyvanian Impaler.
I know Australia is a long way from Canada,and that the 700M is a heavy sucker,but he wanted $800 US for shipping(!!).

The gear looks beautiful, but why would you need an extra $50 for shipping when you already have the original packaging? Heavy duty electronics boxes only costs about $5 to $8 each. If you can get a shipping quote you can factor in shipping towards the total cost. Otherwise its a crap shoot. Shipping costs could end up anywhere from "real + $50" to "astronomical + $50".
 
Shipping for all three with FedEx ground to California should be about $50US each for the tuner and pre, and $80US for the amp. IMHO $200+ is not out of the question for all 3 if they are double boxed.

Did anybody get "Where" in Ontario he is?
There are a few Crucial members on AK
that might live close enough to do a Pick up
and make sure its properly packed up and charged for
or AK pony express maybe?
I think is is a very rare indeed trio and I Really hope

The question is will the seller allow pickup?

Guys from what I can tell I would not have a problem with buying from this guy (I am NOT bidding). He has posted adequate pictures and his shipping and handling fee is fair considering the fragility and weight however, for that much S&H the original cartons should be placed within additional outer boxes with more padding. Its just not worth it to risk damage to these jewels. Every once and awhile you see the 700C OR the 700M being sold separately and even less frequently than that you see that 700T tuner pop up but to see all 3 of these rare birds in this condition with boxes... well personally, I have never seen it before
