Kirksaeter Monitor 70s: Replacement Mid-range and Tweeter

I didn't. I sent the bad tweeter to Richard So of ADS Speaker Service and he fixed it for $50.

Probably going to do the same for my Thiel coherent source speakers. Tweeters don't seem to work.
 
I once had a 10" 3 way studio Monitor Kirksaeter- loved them!! Ended up having to rebuild the xover pretty much but did they ever sound good!!!

I'd planned to redo the crossover, but I can't get one of the cabinet backs off. Seems to be really glued on. Wouldn't budge even after all the screws came out.
 
I have the same issue. I unscrewed all screws and am unable to pull off the back on both of mine. I tried prying with everything but i don't want to damage the cabinet. Was there some kind of putty/sealer on the back you did remove?
 
Good news on your tweeter. Kirksaeters fly under the radar with a lot of people.
Picked up the monitor 120's very reasonable and just had to replace the woofer surround and a tweeter. I was able to find one on the auction site though, got lucky. Looks like they shared some speakers with Canton too.

That's the exact issue I had with one speaker and I ended up damaging slightly it when trying to pry it open. I ran a box cutter along the seams, tried gently prying with a flat putty knife, but it wouldn't budge. The other cabinet back just popped off with a little effort. There was some sort of glue.

The Monitor 70 puts out an incredible amount of bass. I had it hooked up to a recapped NAD 3020 I just sold, and was just sitting there with a stupid grin on my face, listening to Lorde, until my three year old wanted Rubber Duckie.
