KLH 32s found

found a pair of KLH-32s on recycle pile. very heavy!

anyone had good/bad experience with..?

the next question is how do they sound since we know you weren't foolish enough to leave them on the recycle pile...

I have a pair, I like 'em. They don't produce a whopping bass note because of their modest woofer, but the sound overall is very pleasing. I like the cabinets too.

I have had a pair in my office for several years now. They sound really good at low volume. I never get to crank them up at work anyway. they are definitely keeper.

I used a set of Model 32s on my repair bench in the 70s. They took more punishment from the wayward amps, turntables and tape decks that did all sorts of surprising things like oscillations, pumping, motorboating, blurps, snaps, etc. Those little speakers took it all and went right on. Quite hardy.

Sonically, they tended to compress quickly when fed with lots of power. That is, you could push them to a point and then they would just not get any louder. Mind you, by this time, they were getting loud. Yes, the woofers and small cabinets mean there's not a lot of deep bass but they were one of what I would consider a _real_ bookshelf speaker: small but with quality reproduction best for small jazz and quartet music and in a small room.

I think I had a pair of those a couple years ago. You might think about recapping the crossover. I think the tweeter sprang to life when I did.

Nice walnut cabinets on those.
