KLH Model 17 woofer

Could be bad caps. Try connecting the wires from your receiver directly to the woofer. Keep the volume low. Usually the tweeters don't work because of bad caps.

A rule of thumb with any vintage KLH, caps should be replaced and the woofer surrounds resealed with the seal compound vintage-ar sells on the bay.

If the woofer is shot, there's a bunch listed on the bay as well.

Stop working ? in an instant or gradually ? In an instant, you have a connector
to the woofer that had cut off.

Gradually... mmmm worse case, voice coil was almost shot and then a strong surge of current made it die.

Keep us informed.

Well, one evening I had cranked them up to about 85 watts through one song and they handled it pretty good. The next day I fired up the receiver and one woofer was dead, nothing, kaput. It was an ex-woofer. I guess the old guy just couldn’t take it.
I pulled the woofer out and connected it directly and got nothing. I bought one on ebay and re-sealed it and I’m back in business. I probably won’t go that loud with them anymore, that would be like me running a 10k, I’d keel over too.
Thanks for the advice guys.
