what would be a fair price on a pair of KLH model Seventeens advertised as "good physical and fine working condition"

I wouldn't go much above $40 unless they are super nice. "Good physical and fine working condition" sounds like ~$20 or less.

A quick look at e-bay reveals a recapped pair with one bid of $75, and the completed auctions show a rough looking pair that sold for $24.99, both without counting shipping. Based on that, I'd say that $50 is fair for a decent pair in original condition, although maybe a little more, since you won't have shipping to pay. A lot depends on how common they are in your area.
