Nice, this is what the Cornwall III should have been. The new squaker horn with the 'mumps' is one of the best they've ever designed, it's used in their top pro models.

New features in the refreshed Cornwall IV speakers include the use of an all new K-702 midrange compression mated to a modified proprietary Tractrix horn with patented Klipsch Mumps technology for even mid frequencies and consistent sound throughout the listening area. A new high-fidelity, steep slope network, was also integrated to improve sound reproduction with best in class efficiency and power handling. New ports with Tractrix flares deliver the most efficient, fastest air transfer in their class, resulting in reduced port noise and clean, more powerful, punchy bass.

Further refinements in the new Klipsch Cornwall IV speakers include a newly designed wide dispersion high frequency phase plug to ensure the last octave matches the coverage pattern of the midrange and high frequency horns. The premium aluminum input panels accommodate large, high-quality speaker cables, while strong binding posts allow for bi-wiring or bi-amping, while an updated passive network now features premium grade AudioQuest internal wiring.

The Klipsch Cornwall IV is available in three real-wood veneer finishes, with satin black ash, American walnut and natural cherry choices to complement modern furnishings. As with the entire Klipsch Heritage series, the Cornwall IV speakers are designed and handcrafted in the USA. Each speaker is grain-matched using wood veneer panels from the same timber, resulting in a speaker pair that is virtually indistinguishable from the other.

Klipsch will debut the new speakers at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest in Suite # 7154, September 5-8, 2019 in Denver, CO. The Klipsch Cornwall IV (US MSRP is $2,999 each) speakers will be available through Certified Heritage Dealers.

I think they have them out now, of course dealers are spread out a bit. There is one about 50 miles fro me. I wish i was going to the RMAF.

The official price is $6000, i wonder if a dealer could do better?
 
too bad the did not take the opportunity to place the mid horn at the top of the cabinet with the tweeter below (just above the woofer). I understand why they chose not to but I think that it is a dangerous thing when you let the customer dictate technical design but that is the way it is for them I guess. They don't want to disturb the customers sensibilities of perceived right and wrong. Oh well.

There is a seller in Padukah, KY that might have the last batch of CW III's called Metropolis Lake Outfitters. Maybe I'm not supposed to say that and it's against the rules somewhere...who knows. But check with them. No affiliation.

The new mid horns are the same horn used in the Epic CF-3 and CF-4's with "mumps" that apparently went through lots of testing to come up with. Definitely look better than the Heresy III mid horns that are used on the Cornwall III's.
 
Metropolis Lake Outfitters is active on the Klipsch Forums and is well regarded by the members over there.

Do you know this for a fact and if so can you share your source? H2 H3 H4 and CW3 all use a K701 resin mid horn which is the current resin version of the K700 cast metal horn which was used in the Heresy.
 
@moray james . There's no doubt the Cornwall III horn is the same as the Heresy III. Have you not ever seen both side by side? Seriously....It ain't rocket science. I can call tomorrow and get model numbers if you like.

Yes I have both K700 and K701 here in hand. I made a factual statement and I wrote what I did for the sake of other readers who might not know just what horns were used in which models.

If you figure the cost of living has gone up over 10 times since the 60's and the price of gold has gone up 40 times I guess Klipsch has been pretty conservative in its pricing. You could buy a Ford Galaxy or a Chevy Impala for just over $3000.00 in the early 60's. If Chevy made a full size sedan today, How much? A Traverse SUV can easily approach $40,000 list now days. I just bought a new 2018 Diesel Ram SLT and the price has doubled from my 2001 that cost 31.000 dollars new. My first pick up in 1964 cost $2400.00 new. My Mac MC 240 was $288.00. today a MC 152 is $4500 and a 275 that was $444.00 is over $6000. now. So good stuff aint cheap. Name some one other than JBL, KLIPSCH, MAC and TANNOY that are still going strong after 70 years and mostly being built in their country of origin. Of course JBL is now owned by Samsung, and some of Tannoy are being built in China as are Macs combo units. Do I like the fact, no. But as long as you guys keep crying about the prices the temptation to move over seas is there. Soon there won't be any jobs left in the US unless we change are buying habits.. William Farah was a great believer in making and buying American. His kids not so. So everything Willie made here in America has now been farmed out across the world. Where did the 1000's of jobs go? My Ram was made in Mexico, My previous Fords in Canada. Its either price or employment.

So, they went through the trouble of raising the woofer in the III because it was claimed to sound better to lowering back to its original position on the baffle to accommodate the larger mid. So, what’s the deal? Better mids, but at the cost of better lows? Whacky!

Im guessing that trade off is probably worth it. Im sure those new mids are sweet..

You need to work on your quotes. ;)

The CW IV and Forte III dont use the same mid horn. Enlighten me on where in post 11 I referred to an "F3". Maybe there was a smudge on your screen or glasses. Or maybe you just misread?
