Hi, Folks,
I recently picked up a KA-5700 along with a KT-5300. I shipped the 5700 to a tech for repair, and kept the 5300 on my bench for some cleaning. The interior of the 5300 is immaculate. It looks brand new. The outside needs some cleaning and touch-up, but nothing a little soap and effort won't solve.
All that said, when I removed the faceplate, I immediately noticed the foam strips that cushion the back are degraded and need to be replaced. There appears to be two types of strips with different widths and densities. So...
1. Does anyone have experience replacing these foam strips?
2. Does anyone know how to properly assess the density and dimensions of the foam so I can purchase replacement (assumedly from 3m)?
3. Ay tips on how to safely and thoroughly remove the old strips?
Here are a few pics, including some measurements. Any help appreciated!
