What is it about Advent tweeters?? I had a set of 2 way large ones in the 80's, cooked the tweeters and at the time,
sold em for some new Bostons, that were great till they caught the foam disease...last good speakers that I bought..(yes i'm due)
Daily driver (no pun) is a classic Stephens 106ax, 50 or so years old with original tweeter.
What gram vinyl do you have Doug? Must be pretty thick. LOLI have never blown an Advent fired egg. Just don't abuse them. Don't drop a needle. Don't play records with inch deep scratches in them. Etc.

Thanks a lot! Really covered all my questions and more. I should have them by Tuesday at the latest. Until then I will know for sure. They belong to either the original Advent Loudspeaker (OLA) or the original Smaller Advent Loudspeaker.
Measure the square magnet. If they are 3" square, they can be used on all OLA's and later Smaller Advents from sometime in 1975. If they are 2.5" square, they can be used on earlier Smaller Advents
Originally, Advent used the smaller magnet tweeters on the Smaller Advents to match the tweeter efficiency to the woofers so the system wouldn't be too bright. They colored the cone green for easy identification. The OLA tweeters were the usual orange.
Sometime, in 1975, Advent decided to use the larger magnet tweeters in both models and changed the crossover in the Smaller Advents to match the efficiencies instead of the smaller magnet tweeters.
They had green cones left over from the earlier tweeters and used them on the large magnet tweeters until they used them up. So, for a period of time, from about the middle of 1975 on, green tweeters can be found on both OLA's and Smaller Advents (I have a pair of OLA's with green tweeters).
So, if your tweeters have 3" square magnets, you're all set for an OLA or later SAL. If they have 2.5" square magnets, they are meant for the earlier Smaller Advents and you would need a crossover change in an OLA to use them in an OLA or later SAL. I wouldn't want to do that. I would get some 3" square magnet tweeters instead.
The Advent/1, which you are calling NSA, uses a different tweeter, the same as in the New Advent Loudspeaker.

New large Advent with the BULLNOSE cabinet use a different tweeter than the Original large Advent.
Is the OP's good tweeter mounted on masonite?
All my records, since the sixties, have been custom-made for me. Their weight is not measured in grams. It's measured in pounds (kilograms).

Great question to ask. Wonder if Bullnose cabinets used different tweeters or if it was a production change and both used them if later than my 1974 Utility Advents.
That and they were ferro fluid cooled for higher power handling. The New Advents never had the same tweeters as the original Advents…
The difference in the construction of the speaker boards dictated the use of one or the other.
Older Smaller Advent has green tweet. The capacitors in the crossover are a 8 and a 16 uF. Properly restored these are fantastic! I currently run my pair in my work office driven by a Proton D940 receiver.I forgot to mention that the definitive way to tell, in a Smaller Advent with the tweeter missing, if it should have a small magnet tweeter or large magnet tweeter is to look at the crossover. I forget, now, the values of caps, but the crossovers are different.
The earlier cabinet opening for the tweeter would not be large enough for the larger magnet to pass through but I would go by the crossover.

Advent /1 tweet looks like this. The Advent/1 uses the same drivers as the New Advent. The tweeter in still an orange cone unit but the cone is mounted flush onto a metal plate and not on a Masonite square. It also has ferro fluid in it.
