Lepai Tripath Amp

Wow. The price isn't even as unreasonable as I thought it would be. Seems pretty legit.

CyanogenMod HTC One. Android 4.3.

They have raised the price since I got mine. They know it's a good thing. Sold out of all versions also.

Was your 3a p/s a wall wart or regulated p/s?
I already own a regulated 3a 13.8v p/s, and its surely has to be better than the 2a 12v wall wart that came with the Lepai. Before I invest in a more robust p/s for the Lepai, I will be looking for a modern ss integrated amp with higher power as I downsize to only one system. The Lepai will be my stop gap amp.

It was a 3 amp regulated "brick" PS.

Here is a photo of the regulated and fused power supply I will be using with my Lepai, compared to the stock one. I should supply outstanding stable power to my Tripath amp, and probably better than the brick style P/S. I first have to find an old wall wart P/S to cut the connector off for use w/ the Lepai.

Test system

I put together a test system using the Lepai, though I haven't hooked the amp to the Radio Shack regulated power supply yet, but the HD tuner is.
Sound is very clear but a bit brighter than I'm used too. It showed the brightness w/ Paragon Atom speakers as well.
(Tannoy spkrs, HD tuner w/ RS power supply, Lepai w/ stock wall wart)

I got a cable able and hooked the Lepai Tripath amp to the Radio Shack 13.8v 3a regulated power supply and the sound is in a large degree superior to using the stock 12v 2a wall-wart. There is a major increase in bass, body and fullness, realism and naturalism that wasn't there before. Shockingly good!

The speakers are Tannoy Mercury M-20 from the early '80s, but they have a modern sound. They are my favorite vintage speakers I've ever owned.

Resurrecting this thread because I have one of the NSMT Lepai's on the way! I've looked all over the place online looking to see what mods were actually done to the amp.... (on the inside) besides the obvious things that have been done I really don't know whats going on inside but bought it based on the reviews by people that have had the chance to run the amp through it's paces.
Has anyone had a chance to take a peek on the inside of the NSMT Lepai?

:D
